MEXICO CITY - More than 100 people blockaded a highway near the Mexican capital Sunday to protest police conduct during a riot in which a 14-year old boy was shot dead. The protesters, mostly peasant farmers, also demanded the release of 140 people arrested during and after the riot. Police took no action against the protesters, who held their blockade into the evening. The violence erupted Wednesday in San Salvador Atenco, 15 miles northeast of Mexico City, after several people were arrested for selling flowers without permits.
